Eggy Car puts an egg on the roof of your car and asks you not to break it while driving across bumpy terrain. The driving itself is simple. The egg makes it complicated.
Every ramp, hill, and bump requires adjusting your speed. Accelerate too hard on an uphill and the egg rolls backward off the trunk. Hit a crest too fast and it launches forward off the hood. The egg's physics respond to your driving choices with infuriating accuracy, which is what makes failing so immediately understandable and retrying so immediate.
The instinct to go fast works directly against survival. You learn to ease into acceleration, feather the throttle on downhills, and treat every gentle slope like it might be the one that finally sends the egg airborne. That tension between speed and caution is the game's entire dynamic.
Coins collected during runs unlock new cars and tracks. Different cars handle differently — some are more stable, some faster — which changes the challenge of the same terrain. New tracks add obstacles that the base map doesn't have.
Tip for keeping the egg stable: brake before crests rather than on them. If you wait until you reach the top of a hill to slow down, the front drops suddenly and the egg slides forward. Slowing before the crest lets the car settle over it smoothly. The egg physics respond to gradual changes better than sudden ones.
The egg loss animation is excellent. Watching it roll off the back of the car at the exact moment you over-accelerated is both frustrating and funny in a way that makes retrying immediate rather than reluctant.
